TODD SAMPSON

Todd standing next to a camera

Todd is an adventurer and documentary filmmaker. He began his television career on the critically acclaimed ABC series Gruen, which has remained one of Australia’s most popular programs for more than eighteen years. He is the writer, producer, and host of several award-winning documentaries, including Redesign My BrainLife on the LineBody Hack, and Mirror Mirror. His latest series for the ABC is WHY?

Todd has filmed in some of the world’s most extreme environments – from embedding with Iraqi snipers during the Battle of Mosul to covering the protests in Gaza. He’s trained with the French Foreign Legion in the Amazon and fought in an MMA cage in New Mexico. He’s also climbed a 120-metre rock face blindfolded, walked a wire between two buildings 21 storeys up, and lived with both the Eagle Hunters of Mongolia and the Reindeer Herders of Siberia.

Beyond adventure, Todd is the co-creator of Earth Hour, one of the largest environmental movements in history. He has an MBA and is the former CEO of Leo Burnett Australia. The Financial Review named him one of the country’s most influential executives.

He’s also climbed to the top of Mount Everest, unguided.

Todd Sampson is equal to his peers, from the genteel yet compelling Joanna Lumley to the venerable and intellectual David Attenborough.
